I haven’t really had too much time this week to spend with the mustang so I always need to make it count. Its always a refreshing change from my 335ix. If my BMW is serene and collected then the Mustang is a tempest. Its like being given a sledgehammer and told to have at it. Simple, honest and dependable, there is something that can be learned by looking to the past.

Fox mustangs are a visceral experience. Throw on a loud exhaust, a short throw shifter and some 3:73 gears and rip around with a giant grin. It might only run 14s in the quarter, but it just feels like so much fun.

This is probably the most accurate sentiment about them. They’re not fast by modern standards when stock...but they’re a ton of fun and can very easily be made really quick.

The midrange torque of the 5.0 makes it feel effortless fast.... Until you go past 4500rpms.....my mustang really dose feel like more of a beast then either of my Subarus but even my outback could beat it i n a drag race any day...especially up here at 7000ft.
The 5.0 needs aftermarket heads then they can rev and keep up. But stock they are great fun.

They definitely are a blast. Mi ne is quite a bit different from stock so I have quite a bit more grunt under the hood. People can pick faults in them all they want but they are simple and fun.

Modern cars with twice the horsepower are faster on paper, but they just don't deliver the same feeling! I haven't owned a Fox Mustang in about 7 years, but just the thought of driving it puts a smile on my face.
